Finding Trims and other Notions

Good Morning,
As we all know, knowing how to sew or knit is not the only criteria for a great project. The creativity comes first when you have an idea. It might be a new set of towels for the bathroom or a new set of sheets and pillowcases, maybe a new outfit for the next party. Sure you can go grab a pattern, buy some fabric and stitch it up. That's not the creative part. The creativity comes in the selection of fabric or whatever media you will be working with. Still you're not finished. Selecting buttons, should I use some sort of trim, if so, what? Am I going to make the pattern as is or can I alter it in some way to make it more ME?

Then the challenge~~deciding what you need and finding it. You can find lots of things on the internet but like me, you are probably hesitant to order trims and buttons without actually seeing or touching them. However, good fabric supply store are hard to find. I live in the Chicago area and still have trouble finding reasonably priced goods that meet my needs. I mentioned fabric.com in a previous post. Great for fabric but limited for trims. So I went hunting and found 2 immediately. I am sure there are others. Please share if you have favorites.

The first one Deb's Lace and Trims has a plethora of things at very reasonable prices. Checked her reviews and they were great. Definitely a place I plan to shop. The second one Lace Heaven also has a wide variety of trims including buttons plus other notions. Just looking through their inventories gives me ideas.
