Classes, Tutorials and Just Plain Help

I may have mentioned in a previous post that learning new ways of doing things is part of the joy of sewing and doing any kind of craft. One goals has been to learn to digitize my own embroidery files. I think about what would look good and what I think would look good, then go out and hunt for it. Sometimes not an easy thing to do. I have the Embroidery System software that accompanies a Viking machine. It includes a digitizer. Have tried to learn from the manual. Of course, the manual is only available as a .pdf file. Too frustrating and my efforts have gone nowhere. I believe if I could learn that particular skill, it would also assist me in editing files. Some digitizers just put in waaaay too many stitches so the thread just piles on and piles on, If I understood the process perhaps I could make otherwise great files work for me.

I have been researching this on the net and discovered a site that might be just what I need. I confess I have not signed up for the class yet but am seriously considering it. The one I am most interested in is Digitizing Machine Embroidery
at craftsy.com. They also offer so many classes by great names in the industry. They have to be good.

If you have ever taken a sewing class online, could you let me know how it went?
